Curmudgeon’s Corner: Double Hosts, But Not Double Coes

This week on Curmudgeon’s Corner, Ivan ditches Sam, so Sam’s 11 year old son Alex cohosts! Well, sorta. First Sam does a solo show, talking about the Democrats and how they are dealing with the Covid bill and other priorities, then the Republicans and how they are continuing to prove themselves to be solidly the party of Trump. But after that, Sam turns the show over to Alex, and so the rest of the show is Alex discussing his YouTube channel, answering a few questions from his Dad, and wrapping up with describing some of the things he has been doing in Minecraft and Terraria lately. If you’re not into that kind of thing, you can of course skip the last part. But Alex would appreciate it if you didn’t! :-)

Curmudgeon’s Corner: Goodbye and Hello

On this week’s Curmudgeon’s Corner, Sam and Ivan mark the Presidential transition with one segment wrapping up the end of Trump’s presidency, and another on the beginnings of the Biden administration. Before that though, they share a few thoughts on YouTube, corporate annual review processes, family members getting the Covid vaccines, and even the MegaMillions hitting a billion dollars. Enjoy the show!

Curmudgeon’s Corner: Magnet for Dumb Pipe Thieves

On this week’s Curmudgeon’s Corner, Sam and Ivan’s main topics are Election 2018, Alex Jones getting kicked off various platforms, and all the corruption in and surrounding the Trump administration. Before all that, a few bits on kid accounts for online services, a book and a movie Sam watched, and some adventures with cars.

Curmudgeon’s Corner: Return of the Beep

On Curmudgeon’s Corner this week, Sam and Ivan’s main topics are North Korea and the dust up between CNN and the guy on Reddit. They pack a lot of smaller topics in this week too though. Rick Perry on Economics. The 2014 Annie remake. Dress codes in Congress and elsewhere. The Seattle minimum wage. A listener fact checks our last episode. And much much more…

ALeXMXeLA Episode 100!!

We have just posted the 100th episode to Alex’s YouTube channel. You can watch above, or go to ALeXMXeLA.com to subscribe. He decided not to do anything special for the 100th episode other than continuing to play through the Portal 2 Community Test Chamber series called “Into the Multiverse” that we were in the middle of. You can watch all of our play through of this series that has been published so far here.

He continues to record new episodes faster than I have been able to push them out to YouTube. Episode 100 was recorded way back on May 29th. The most recent episode, recorded this Tuesday, will be Episode 240 when I eventually get around to getting it posted…

He has 25 subscribers now and is very serious about his channel. He may only be six, but he knows what he wants!

Subscribe and tell your friends to subscribe too! :-)

Curmudgeon’s Corner: It works better in the ear

This week on the Curmudgeon’s Corner podcast Sam and Ivan talk about television, thermostats, manipulating public opinion and a few other things besides Election 2016, but of course most of the show ends up being about the election. They cover the last gasp Sanders path to the nomination, Trump zig-zagging on the issues, the Republican civil war, and possible Trump VPs. Oh, and Sam’s son Alex keeps interrupting to promote his YouTube channel.

Watch my son Alex’s YouTube channel!

Alex’s channel is here: ALeXMXeLA

We’ve now posted 10 episodes on Alex’s YouTube channel. There are 15 more that he has already recorded that I’ll be posting as soon as I can get to them. All the ones posted so far are Minecraft videos, but he’s been branching out into other games on some of the ones in the queue to be posted.

Please subscribe, please watch, please tell your friends to watch. Especially ones with K-3 age kids who might enjoy watching a six year old playing games. He is really excited about doing these, so it would be nice to have a few people looking.

I’ll especially call out Episode 8 here, because in it he requests that the people watching vote for who won the “Building Time” contest we had, and give suggestions for our next Building Time. So watch and leave your comments on YouTube!

Here is Episode 8, which he titled “Building Time – Nala Part 4”:

Thanks all!
