Curmudgeon’s Corner: Pour My Brain

This week on Curmudgeon’s Corner Sam and Ivan’s main topics are the Republican Civil War that is brewing, and various Trump administration mini-scandals from the last week. But they also spend some time on the solar eclipse, MacBook Pros, Powerball, the military transgender ban, if Trump will have a primary challenger in 2020, the recent Navy crashes, Trump’s Arizona speech, and more!

My Eclipse Sequence

OK, I’m no pro, but not too horrible for a first attempt and just shooting through the filter glass in the box. Perhaps I’ll try again in 2024. :-)

Eclipse Watching

#14 welding glass taped into an cardboard box of approximately head shape. We only made one, so we have to take turns. We’re going to get to 90.8% in our zip code.

Taking a few pictures of the eclipse itself putting the camera in the box too, but it is a bit of a pain. Next time around need a separate rig for the camera.

My Supermoon Eclipse Pics

Since everybody is posting these, figure I will too. :-)

My view of the eclipse

Thanks to Star Walk 2 on my iPhone. Clouds and houses in the way of my actual eyes. That and the fact I didn’t prepare in advance with proper eye protection. (Or pinhole camera.)
