06:52:19 .@Dreamhost my site down >1hr now after shut down for comment spam I haven’t seen any evidence of. Live support says can’t help. Not cool.
09:17:58 After 3 hours downtime at @dreamhost, even though I could find no evidence of comment spam, I temporarily removed all comments from my site.
09:19:56 It was impossible to get useful @dreamhost support during those 3 hours but email said I could reactivate with plan to address comment spam.
09:21:56 So I emailed plan to @dreamhost: Remove all comments until I hear more details from them about the problem they detected that I can not.
09:28:07 So site is back up sans comments despite fact I can’t find any comment spam that made it through existing filters. Annoyed at @dreamhost.
09:30:37 If I’d been able to reach someone at @dreamhost support who could help, I would be less annoyed. Understand need to take action if abuse.
09:32:00 And obviously if I do have a comment spam problem, I want to fix it ASAP. I just couldn’t find any problem, and @dreamhost didn’t help. :-(
