This just happened to mine too, only it was 100% my fault. It does mean that that I got a mini retina to replace it and will be fixing and selling old iPad as I have time.
This was 100% my fault too. As was the last time. And the time before. In each of those cases, Alex was present too, but it was my action that precipitated the smashing. An upgrade isn’t in the cards for me yet. But I will get it “fixed” on Tuesday. Since it is the 3rd time though, it will cost me a bunch more. :-(

It was mine again. Which means time #3 in less than two years, which means $299 to fix instead of $50. Taking it in on Tuesday afternoon.
