NPR talk with a Guardian exec made clear to me for the first time that the cherished American Freedom of the Press, freedom of speech are NOT IN their laws – and if not in England, not very many other places except USA. So not court recourse. We have a bill of rights in the constitution different from all others.
Indeed. It is not a commonly legally protected freedom, even in places where it is customary most of the time. But even in the US, protections are not nearly strong enough.
