No desk. No desk chair. Just a comfy Poang and some shelves. I think I still need a small table to hold a drink and a snack, and probably a footstool.
This will probably result in me spending more time in my actual assigned space. For the last nine months or so I spent most of my time as a nomad, working from comfy chairs in lounges or coffee shops across the work campus.
Our ergo people would have a fit.
Yeah Greg, I know. I really need that footstool. I see that now.

Now you know that is not ergonomically correct, right? lol

Can’t you get a real monitor??? Seriously? I wouldn’t use something that small anywhere…

‎@HN: Yeah, like I said. Footstool. That will fix everything.

@IB: I could switch it out to a bigger one at any time. But I’ve had this one since I started here almost six years ago! Plus, I hardly ever use it. Only for the odd task that needs a second monitor, or to put windows in that I just want to have up and visible while I work. 99% of the time, I’m doing my primary work on the laptop monitor, the external one is just extra and I only sometimes bother connecting it.

That would be a good use for a nice monitor arm (and a nicer monitor).

‎@GH: Use the monitor arm as a footstool?

seems to be progress but if the time notes are right you are writing this at 4:49 a.m. – our sleep patterns are messed up in the coming orderliness of new home office! :):)
@RB: Not sure where you got 04:49 AM. Remember everything on my blog is on Universal Coordinated Time, so if you see something timestamped 04:49 that is actually 8:49 PM PAcific or 9:49 PM Pacific depending on the time of year. But this particular post was published at 19:29 UTC last Friday, which was 11:29 AM Pacific.
Oh… and this is my office at work, not my office at home. My office at work is set up similarly though (and has been for a couple of months).

A laptop screen is too small for me unless I am out of the office 20 inch minimum!

It reminds me of my first college apartment. :). You should take a pic of Jenn when she’s whirling around and scattering paper on her desk so people can get the whole office experience.

‎@IB: I like larger screens too, but somehow I still end up almost always just using the laptop screen.

@CW: If I see paper flinging, I will try to get pictures and video. :-)
